In the words of Ben Howard ( Who I am completely obsessed with at the mo!) It is time to keep my head up. Being back at uni now for a week, I am trying to take in my surroundings and take inspiration by the city of Southampton. I want to use the different people, buildings and culture to inspire all of my work. However, on the light hearted side, moving back here meant one thing... room decor. Think the over used term of 'shabby chic', bright colours and pure girlyness. I becamefixed on sewing over the holidays. Making lavender hearts,re-upholstering a chair and making a collection of cushions. It is safe to say I love a good interior.

Time to celebrate
It is official, the past couple of weeks have been the basis of celebration for me and my family. Think new jobs and wedding bells. Obviously the latter I am most excited about. It's my time to be a bridesmaid for my sister! We cannot stop looking at dresses, flowers and beautiful decor. For me this is the most exciting part! Due to all the celebrations, there was only one thing for it... Champers (pink of course)!

Summer loving
So
today has been a stupendously relaxing and calming day. Waking up to
the sun beaming through my window I felt motivated and truely inspired
to finally get this blog up to date! My personal style
and likes are pure girlyness (If that was ever a word). Think tea cups,
cake and foral prints. Nothing is too feminine. This being said, today I began
by looking through a book that I have never thought to read. ' A year in
a Victorian Garden'- Henry A. Bright. This book contains the most
beutiful and delightful illustrations by Christine Hart-Davies that
portray Victorian flowers. To my suprise, I found the brush strokes and
shading dainty and elegent and highly inspirational. Reading this book got me out into the garden, planting flowers and taking in the great British summer.
Here are a few images from my day. Spot the obvious floral and nature theme!

Shorts inspired by my time spent in the garden! Bought last summer from Primark. |

The Olympics seem to be such an exciting and patriotic experience for me! I have very little interest in sports at any other time, however when it's the olympics it seems different! The sense of excitment knowing your country is competing for an elusive gold medal that several others are.
For me also, it means me and my family sitting together, really getting excited about something.
All I wish is that I felt like this before the tickets went on sale, then I may have seen it all in flesh. I think that events like this show how people can work together and build such a memorable experience for people.
I'm so into the Olympics, it was carried into the shop window!

When it comes to handbags, there is no brand that I trust more than Nica! I seem to have been buying bags from them foreverrrrrrr, and luckily, they last forever! Have to say, I am slightly addicted!
Also seem to be collecting rather a lot of rings and bracelets, don't thing a girl can have too many...can she? xx

I'm so patriotic! After watching the Diamond Jubilee concert, I really got into the spirit of things! The next day I went for an afternoon tea at a Family friends house...and I can truthfully say that I have never eaten so much cake, and drank so much tea! Needless to say, I had a beautiful day. Oh and I forgot to mention the unlimited supply of Bucks fizz! xxx
